Jell-O Pudding Pops

I want to apologize for not posting a recipe in a while.  Last week I came down with a very bad sinus infection and at the same time a touch of the stomach virus.  I was wiped out and just was not able to get in the kitchen and cook.  I am feeling better thank goodness, although it has been a slow process I am getting back to my normal self.  I am guilty of taking on way too much and it showed last week when I became sick.  That has forced me to realize that I just cannot do it all and I need to learn to say no, which is not easy for me.   I have been doing some adjusting to try and make things work better for me.  The one thing I can tell you that will not change is this blog.  I enjoy this so much and for the first time in a long time I have something to look forward to.  I read every single comment that is posted so if you do not see a reply from me please know that I do read them and that is what drives me to continue.  Many thanks to all of you for hanging in there with me.

When I was growing up Jell-O pudding pops where a rare treat for us.  It is really sad that you are unable to buy them anymore the way they made them back then.  Do any of you remember them?  When I saw Tina from Mommys Kitchen post these I knew I had to make them.  So yummy and very close to what I remember them tasting like back then.  Thanks Tina for posting how to do these.  My kids absolutely loved these. Do you remember the chocolate and vanilla swirl ones?  I will for sure make these again for my family.

I placed the cups in a glass baking dish to place in the freezer.

Little Miss enjoying her popsicle, silly me put her in the bathtub before the popsicle.  I found that these were easier to put in the cups verses the popsicle molds.  The mixture was thicker than I thought it would be so it was a little harder to pour in the molds.
Enjoy

1 large box (5.1 oz) Jell-O Chocolate Cook & Serve Pudding
3 - cups cold milk
1/2 - 3/4 cup thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping
Popsicle Sticks
small Dixie or paper cups

Follow package directions on the back of the pudding box. When pudding is cooked, cool slightly and add whipped topping. Let pudding cool down some and then pour into small paper cups. Using a little helper have them insert a Popsicle stick into each cup in the middle for a handle. I placed the cups on a 9x13 in glass pan so it was easier to place in the freezer. Freeze pops for 5 hours or until firm.

Thanks again Tina from Mommys Kitchen for the recipe. Please check out her blog, you will not be disappointed!

  5. OOOHHH! We loved pudding pops! You're right, they were a rare treat for us too...We mostly froze Koolaide in dixie cups. Actually, there was a lady down the street who sold the koolaide pops at her house. She could not have kept us away if it had been pudding pops!

Yikes! Sorry about the sinus infection...hope you're all better soon :)

  8. Oh, those look delicious. Looks like your daughter really enjoyed it. My sons like to snack when they get out of tub, too. Usually with the same results. Thanks for sharing on A Well-Seasoned Life's Sweet Indulgences Sunday.
