This Blueberry Banana Bread recipe is a fun spin on a classic banana bread. A classic sweet bread that is chock full of blueberries in every bite.
It never fails, whenever I buy bananas there is always a couple of bananas that do not get eaten. Is my family the only family that does this? Poor bananas. They just want some attention. So I almost always know I will be making something with the few that are left.
After making a big bowl of Honey Lime Fruit Salad for the family I had a pint of blueberries leftover to use up. We love berries but blueberries are not necessarily a berry that we normally eat on its own. So here I am with 2 bananas and a pint of blueberries needing some love. Inspiration hit to combine the two into a classic sweet loaf bread.
Just like our favorite Cinnamon Crumb Banana Bread recipe, this one is super easy. I used fresh blueberries for this recipe. You can normally pick those up in the produce section of your grocery store any time of the year. Before adding them to the batter, make sure to coat them in flour so that the berries do not fall to the bottom of the loaf. Flour allows them to stay within the batter throughout the bread. Of course you can use frozen berries but the downfall to that would be that the batter will more than likely turn purple. But it would still be just as good. Enjoy!
