Our daughter has already started asking for hot chocolate since it has gotten cold. We all do the little packets of hot cocoa when in a pinch but every now and again I try to make it homemade. I am a huge fan of hazelnut coffee creamer and have to have it in my coffee every day. Add a little chocolate to the mix and oh my what an awesome combination. I knew when I saw this recipe I just had to make it. Besides it is 2 ingredients, what could be better than that? I will admit though, this is a super dangerous recipe to have in my arsenal. As cold as it is already, this recipe will be made a lot this winter.
Imagine playing in the snow and coming in to a nice warm cup of this awesomeness while sitting next to the crackling fire. Maybe winter won't be that bad after all.
Warm milk in a saucepan over medium heat,
stirring frequently. Be careful not to boil or scald. Once warmed, whisk in the
Nutella until smooth. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
Is there anything that says snow day more than a steaming cup of hot chocolate?
When we were kids my Mom always warmed us up after playing in the snow with some hot chocolate. Just warms you right up.
We don't have as many snow days as we did when I was a kid. When we do get some snow, I make sure to make extra special memories with my kids. Sleigh riding, snow angels, snowmen, its always lots of fun. My husband is just a big kid at heart so he is usually the first one to grab a sleigh and go down a hill.
If you have never made hot chocolate before, this is a great recipe to try. It has super simple ingredients that are common in most pantries.
If you want this ready and waiting when you come in from some snow fun, place the prepared hot chocolate into a crock pot on the warm setting. It will be still warm when you are ready for it. Stay warm my friends!
