Hot Apple Pie Dip

So I have been trying to get this post up all week with no luck. Every time I grabbed my computer something would come along and prevent me from writing. I guess you could say I was easily distracted from it.  A little bit of writers block, it happens!  This tends to happen to me when demands have stretched me too thin. I had high intentions today to sit down and get this shared but my body had another agenda. I woke up at 5 am with a migraine. I have suffered from migraines for many years. Some are milder than others and some stop me in my tracks. Usually when I awake with one, it is harder to get them to go away. This one stopped me in my tracks. So I tried to sleep as much as I could to get it to go away today. Thankfully, it was a school day and I was home by myself. It is extremely hard to think when your head hurts or much less anything else. It has subsided but it is lurking around. Waiting for that moment to strike again. I pray it decides it has done enough damage for one day.

I had so many new recipes I was going to try today. However, tomorrow is a new day so I will try again. Sometimes I just have to stop and realize I can't do it all.  No person should ever feel like they should have to do it all. We all need a helping hand and we should not feel like we can't ask for a hand. I am not super woman, even though I may think I am at times.

Whenever we are invited to any kind of party or get together I usually try to make a dessert. Sometimes I like to change that up a bit and make a dip. I like to keep people guessing and on their toes. Besides, I am a food blogger, they expect me to bring the good stuff.  With this recipe, I married a dip and a dessert together.  It also uses one of my favorite kitchen tools, a crock pot.  My only suggestion with this dip would be to make plenty. They will be fighting over it until it is gone.

Crock Pot Hot Apple Pie Dip

6 ounces cream cheese (about 2/3 of a block)

3 Tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

1/2 an apple peeled and roughly chopped into small pieces

1 teaspoon of vanilla

Add all the ingredients to your mini crock pot and mix. Heat on low for an hour or more.

Serve with graham crackers or apple slices.

Do you think I could use Apple Pie Filling if I left out the spices and apple? I have made 2 cakes so I'm actually down to 18 cans :) I am not one to experiment with recipes so I thought who better to ask than the person who posted it .., Thanks! Peggy I had to post anonymous because I have NO idea which of the others to choose from lol
