White Chocolate Orange Dream Cookies

A few months back a coworker was telling me about these cookies.  She secretly gave me a sample to try and oh my goodness was I in heaven.  There is something about these cookies that linger with you.  "They are amazing Moma" my 5 year old daughter tells me.  I didn't realize she knew what that word was. I couldn't help but giggle at that one.  Kids can say the cutest things.

I have to say these are my absolute favorite cookie now.  Don't get me wrong I love a good chocolate chip cookie fresh and warm out of the oven.  These just talk to me and nag me to come and eat them.  I hear them calling my name as I type.  Sweets are my weakness!  It had been so long since I baked and it was really relaxing for a change.  I have not been feeling myself lately and this was exactly what I needed.  So without further ado here is the recipe.

Cream the butter, brown sugar, and sugar.  Continue adding the remaining ingredients except the white chocolate chips.
Stir in the white chocolate chips.
I used a cookie scoop to make these even.  The first batch came out a little puffy so the rest I pressed down the tops a little so they would spread.  Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Enjoy!

Served Up With Love!

White Chocolate Orange Dream Cookies

1 cup butter- soft
2/3 cup light brown sugar packed
½ cup sugar
1 lg egg
1 tablespoon grated orange zest ( can substitute lemon)
2 tablespoon orange extract        (can substitute lemon)
2 ½ cups all purpose flour
¾ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 pkg white chocolate chips

(substituted lemon for orange and they are just as good)
Beat 1st 3 ingredients until creamy. Gradually add in the rest except for the chips. Mix well then stir in chips. Drop by tablespoon onto UNGREASED cookie sheets and bake @ 350* for 10 to 12 minutes.

**Special thanks going out to Mary who shared this recipe with me.  This will be my go to recipe from now on.   She also shared the Apple Cake recipe with me.  That recipe is also a winner!

****UPDATE--  I changed up this recipe by replacing the orange zest and orange flavoring for lemon.  Oh my these are just as good if not better.
